Dr. Marissa
Dr. Marissa grew up in Lake Benton Minnesota and graduated high school from Elkton in 2016.
She attended York College in York, Nebraska for pre-med biology and graduated in 2020. Ever
since she was a child, she always told everyone she wanted to be a doctor. She spent time
shadowing multiple types of doctors while in college and ultimately fell in love with Chiropractic
because of its holistic approach to health and wellness.
Dr. Marissa attended Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. During her time as a
student, she had the opportunity to learn from some of the most experienced and talented
Gonstead doctors in the world through the Troxell Intern Program. It was through this internship
that she learned the value of specific and precise chiropractic care. Dr. Marissa graduated as
valedictorian of her class, received the academic excellence award, and was a nominee and
finalist for the Virgil V. Strang philosophy award.
Dr. Marissa is a member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) and has
trained in the Webster Technique. She loves to help women with anything from menstrual health
to breastfeeding to pregnancy to fertility. She is deeply passionate about gut health and natural
and holistic living. Because of her own health struggles with an autoimmune disease, she
strongly believes in taking a root cause approach to health in both children and adults. Because
of this, she is currently working on her certification through the School of Applied Functional
Medicine. She has a deep faith, believes the body was intelligently designed, and that there is
hope for healing in every situation.
In her free time, Dr. Marissa loves traveling, cooking, going to coffee shops, and photography.
She loves to spend time with her husband Bryce, baby girl Raya, and golden retriever Pepper.
They bought a house in Lake Benton last year and have enjoyed making it their own.
