Dealing with Insurance
Understanding the health insurance process can be confusing. Each contract is negotiated by the employer or in the case of individual contracts, by the individual. Each contract is different and there are (potentially and most likely) co-pays, deductibles and/or co-insurance. Each are amounts that are the responsibility of the patient. This office has no part in the determination of those amounts. The deductible amount is what your contract states as what has to be paid by the patient before the insurance company will begin to reimburse the doctor. By no means does the entire deductible need to be paid before treatment, just what is due on the day of service. The co-pay or co-insurance amount is due at each visit. These amounts will be verified prior to treatment, if possible.
It is recommended that the patient verify their responsibility prior to the office visit to avoid any nasty shocks.
